Tatajuba Decking is one of the closest mimics of Ipe. Tatajuba is an exotic hardwood that is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insect attack. Tatajuba Decking is yellowish gold turning a consistent deep russet brown over the first few months in sunlight. The color transformation is very dramatic. The consistent brown color continues to weather to silver tone but more slowly than Ipe or other species. As it weathers, the grain raises slightly, usually sufficient to prevent the deck from becoming slippery when wet.
