Tatajuba Decking and Decks

Tatajuba Decking is used for the customer who would like an Ipe deck at a value price. ABSWood carries Tatajuba 1x6 decking and 4x4s. Tatajuba Decking can be used alone or with Ipe or other complementary woods. Tatajuba and Ipe are difficult to tell apart.

Tatajuba Decking Specifications

Tatajuba Decking is one of the closest mimics of Ipe.  Tatajuba is an exotic hardwood that is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insect attack. Tatajuba decking offers a 25+ year lifespan without preservatives! Our Tatajuba decking is responsibly harvested from managed forest to provide a truly renewable resource.  Unlike composite decking, Tatajuba is naturally biodegradable and does not clog landfills. Tatajuba Decking is comparable to Ipe and is available at a fraction of the cost. We ship our Tatajuba decking products direct to your home or job site.

Tatajuba Decking is yellowish gold turning a consistent deep russet brown over the first few months in sunlight. The color transformation is very dramatic. The consistent brown color continues to weather to silver tone but more slowly than Ipe or other species. As it weathers, the grain raises slightly, usually sufficient to prevent the deck from becoming slippery when wet.
